Job description
Overview

Are you an experienced Transport Shift Manager with a background in food/FMCG retail? Do you like the idea of leading the transport function on one of our key contracts? Are you ready to step up to a new challenge?

We’re looking for a full-time, permanent, Senior Transport Shift Manager to support our Greene King operation in Greenford and responsibility for our transport cross-dock operation in Bristol. You’ll be directly responsible for supporting the Distribution Manager in the overall running of a safe, efficient, and cost-effective grocery retail transport operation.

This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday to Friday, rotating over 06:00 – 14:00 and 04:00-12:00. However, we do ask for some flexibility, this is logistics after all!

Responsibilities
  • To Support the Distribution Manager with the implementation of new customer initiatives and GXO Strategy
  • To Liaise with the Planning Manager to ensure effective planning and utilisation of the fleet
  • To ensure all Transport legislative, Operators license Compliance and Company requirements are met
  • To develop, monitor and manage the performance of the Transport Shift Managers
  • To ensure Shift Managers carry out all QHSE, Health & Safety Investigations, post incident functions in a timely manner and to the company standard
  • To liaise with the Warehouse Operational Teams on all issues relating to loading and planning
  • To ensure the effective management of TachoMaster and DCRS. To ensure drivers comply with the drivers’ hours and working time rules
What you’ll need to succeed at GXO
  • Full International Managers Certificate of Competence (CPC) – Will be required to be on the O Licence
  • Experience in 3rd party logistics Management
  • A working knowledge of both WTD and digital tacho compliance
  • Computer literate to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience in managing a team to deliver excellent results
