Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Transport Planner or an experienced Transport Planner to join our team in Hertford. This is a varied role within WSP's UK-wide Transport & Mobility team, focusing on active travel, public transport, strategy development and business case support.

You will lead tasks in a multi-disciplinary environment, develop transport-focused strategies and policies, and engage Local Authority or private sector clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in active travel, public transport, scheme development and/or business case development.
• Experience in developing transport focused strategies, plans and policies.
• Experience in working with Local Authority and/or private sector clients.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to manage tasks and support wider team management.

We are seeking a Senior Transport Planneror an experienced Transport Planner to join our team in Hertford. This is a varied role, working as part of WSP's UK-wide Transport & Mobility team, with core responsibilities including:

• Supporting the delivery of our portfolio of projects with a focus on active travel, public transport, strategy development and business case support
• Leading and managing tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team and produce high-quality outputs in line with client requirements.
• Making a positive contribution to the commercial performance of the team, with the ability to recognise key metrics and understand how individual and project team performance contributes to them.
• Make an active contribution to our four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Technical Excellence).

Your Team

We undertake a wide range of transport planning technical work for our clients, as well as having an extensive portfolio of multi-disciplinary and cross-sector services, including (but not limited to): active travel solutions; public transport network planning; scheme development and appraisal; business case development and Government funding applications for all types of transport schemes; economic appraisal; transport strategy and policy development. You may have broad experience that spans across these areas, or you may be a specialist in one or more.

We are based at Foxholes Business Park, south-east of Hertford town centre.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to successfully deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to manage tasks and support wider team management in leading more junior members of the team.
