Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex transformer projects across transmission, distribution, renewables and industrial sectors, delivering safely, on schedule and within budget.

You will coordinate supply, installation, commissioning and testing of transformer equipment, working with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, planning and site teams to meet contract requirements and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects in power/utilities/energy infrastructure.
• Experience with transformers, substations, or HV equipment.
• Strong project delivery, commercial management, and contract execution.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing and construction.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to juggle priorities.
• Engineering qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead transformer projects from contract award through to final handover.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and commercial performance.
• Act as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate the supply, logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning of transformer equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, planning, commercial and site teams.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigations.
• Manage project financials: forecasting, cost control, invoicing and cash flow.
• Support contract administration, change management, claims, and close-out activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Ensure all project activities comply with quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
