Purpose of the role
The Senior Finance & Transformation Manager will lead Finance Support of the newly formed IMS (IAG Maintenance Strategy) team. This role requires a deep understanding of the airline industry, key accounting expertise and the ability to analyse complex data sets to prompt significant strategies and actions.
Your responsibilities
Accountabilities:
- Support the management and delivery of ~₠500m of financial benefit across the group.
- Liaise with senior transformation and finance leaders to ensure alignment of IMS financial planning, forecasting, and reporting with group strategy.
- Coordinate and reconcile benefits across the different OpCos. Aligning internal reporting and accounting methodologies.
- Provide strategic decision support to project directors and executive management, ensuring financial insights are embedded in key business decisions.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance and data analysts, providing clear guidance, direction, and support in day-to-day activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure effective tracking and reporting of performance against these metrics.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations based on robust financial and data analysis to drive business growth and transformation outcomes.
- Communicate complex financial analysis and performance insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, using presentations, reports, and visual dashboards.
- Oversee governance and compliance with internal controls, ensuring adherence to corporate approval policies.
- Identify financial and operational risks, developing mitigation strategies to safeguard delivery of program benefits.
- Monitor and challenge business cases for transformation initiatives, ensuring robust assumptions, transparent tracking, and measurable outcomes.
- Represent the IMS Finance & Transformation team at executive and steering committee meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
This role may require travel and working from multiple sites/locations. Willing and able to travel to participate in meetings, workshops, and other related activities.
Your skills, experience and qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Science, Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
- Desirable but not imperative professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent).
- Strong background in project finance, transformation, and business performance management.
- Extensive Experience in Finance Business Partner Roles, ideally in Engineering and IT functions.
- Extensive experience in data analysis and modelling.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Proven experience in the airline industry, with a deep understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in analytics tools and technologies.
