Job summary

A leading Scottish civil engineering business in Glasgow is seeking a Group Training Manager to lead and oversee their training and workforce development strategy. This role involves the strategic oversight of regional training managers and supporting compliance and professional development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in training within civil engineering or construction, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior training or L&D leadership role within civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of CITB, CSCS, and construction compliance frameworks.
• Strategic mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel across Scotland to meet with teams, clients, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement the group-wide training and competency strategy.
• Oversee regional training teams and ensure alignment with group standards.
• Manage the group training budget and build strong partnerships with providers.
• Oversee compliance, certification, and audit readiness.
• Support leadership, apprenticeship, and professional development initiatives.
• Attend regional offices and project sites to provide guidance and ensure training quality.
