Job summary

Calderdale Norse Ltd in West Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead the development and delivery of traffic schemes that improve road safety and sustainable transport across Calderdale. You will act as a technical expert, mentor engineers and coordinate with consultants, contractors and local authorities to deliver high-quality, cost-effective designs.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, a full driving licence, and proven experience with TSRGD/DMRB and

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction & Built Environment or related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
• Proven experience delivering traffic engineering and highway schemes.
• Strong knowledge of TSRGD, DMRB and highway legislation.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes and multiple projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with highways/traffic design tools.
• Knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders, Speed Limit Orders and Parking Places Orders.

Responsibilities

• Support the Team Leader and deputising when required.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and best practice within the service.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Traffic Engineer should have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction & Built Environment, Asset Management or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
• Hold a full driving licence, and access to a vehicle for work purposes
• Proven experience delivering traffic engineering and highway schemes.
• Strong knowledge of TSRGD, DMRB and highway legislation.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD and highways/traffic design software.
• Knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders, Speed Limit Orders and Parking Places Orders.
• A commitment to delivering safe, sustainable and customer-focused engineering solutions.
