Job summary

A leading waste management company in Burgess Hill is seeking a Senior Traffic Dispatcher responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring efficient routing and compliance with health & safety standards. Experience in the logistics services industry is essential, as is the ability to manage staff in a multi-shift environment. Candidates should have local geographical knowledge and proven operational management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day staff operations to ensure top-tier service delivery.
  • Optimize routes and disposal outlets for maximum vehicle and facility efficiency.
  • Ensure driver availability and coverage in line with legal and company guidelines.
  • Handle administrative duties, including inputting pay, bonuses, and disposal data.
  • Oversee vehicle management, ensuring safe operations and compliance with weight regulations.
  • Monitor daily vehicle availability and ensure drivers complete pre-shift checks.
  • Support cost control by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Complete all dispatch office admin tasks, including timesheets, tachograph records, and payroll.
  • Work with the Depot Manager to ensure mandatory training and inductions are completed.

The Senior Traffic Dispatcher is responsible for managing the day to day organisation of operations in the depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. You will ensure best in class service delivery to customers, ensuring health & safety standards are maintained, and ensuring environmental and O licence compliance.

Your core responsibilities
