Job summary

A global asset management firm is seeking a Senior Fixed Income Trader to lead trade execution across various global markets. About the Department

Franklin Templeton’s London Fixed Income team is a cornerstone of our global investment platform. Based in London we manage multi‑asset strategies across public and private markets for institutional and retail clients. Our team covers a broad spectrum of fixed income instruments including emerging and developed market debt, currencies, credit and derivatives. We operate collaboratively with a strong emphasis on innovation, strategic execution and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead fixed income trade execution across global fixed income markets, ensuring best execution and minimising transaction costs.
  • Trade a wide range of instruments including EMD, government and corporate bonds, currencies and derivatives.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts.
  • Monitor markets and generate trading ideas.
  • Provide market insights and commentary.
  • Engage with brokers and internal teams to optimise outcomes.
  • Support compliance and governance standards.
  • Contribute to firm‑wide trading innovation.
Technology & Innovation
  • Use advanced trading platforms and internal tools.
  • Assess new technologies to improve efficiency.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Produce reports on trading activity and market trends.
  • Maintain accurate trading records.
Compliance & Due Diligence
  • Ensure all trading meets regulatory and internal standards.
Experience, Education & Certifications

Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field. CFA, MBA or equivalent preferred.

Extensive fixed income trading experience across multiple asset classes, especially in Emerging Market Debt.

Proven leadership in complex trading operations.

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of global credit, rates, derivatives and structured product markets.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms and market analytics.
  • Advanced skills in data systems and execution tools.

This role will be certified under the Senior Managers Certification Scheme.
