Job summary

Hirecracker Planning in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Town Planner to work on green infrastructure and rural development projects. You will prepare and submit planning applications, manage client relationships, and support policy work.

The role offers flexible working, clear career progression, and RTPI mentoring. MRTPI or working toward chartership is preferred; knowledge of the Scottish planning system is essential. Candidates with consultancy or local authority experience will fit well.

Qualifications

• MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership.
• Experience in a planning consultancy, local authority, or development setting.
• Solid knowledge of the Scottish planning system and policies.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Interest in green infrastructure, sustainable land use, and rural development.
• Proactive, organised, and commercially minded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit planning applications.
• Manage client relationships and co-ordinate project delivery.
• Attend site visits and support appeals and policy work.
• Opportunity to get involved in client development and networking as experience grows.
