Senior Town Planner – Bournemouth
Are you an experienced Town Planner ready to step into a senior role within a respected and fast-growing consultancy on the South Coast?
Our client – a highly regarded, independent planning and development consultancy based in Bournemouth – is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join their collaborative and dynamic team. Known for delivering expert planning advice and securing high-profile planning permissions across the South and beyond, they work with a diverse range of clients including developers, architects, landowners, and private individuals.
As a Senior Town Planner, you’ll play a key role in delivering successful planning outcomes for a varied project portfolio spanning residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You’ll work closely with clients and local authorities, prepare robust planning applications, and provide strategic planning advice from site appraisal to appeal.
You’ll be joining a small but highly experienced and friendly team, offering real responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to progress your career in a supportive and professional environment.
Manage your own caseload of planning applications, appeals, and site promotions
Provide high-level planning advice to clients and stakeholders
Prepare and submit planning applications, design and access statements, and supporting reports
Represent clients at appeals, hearings, and public consultations
Support and mentor junior members of the team
Keep abreast of local and national planning policy changes
MRTPI qualified (or very close to chartership)
At least 4-5 years’ experience in planning (private consultancy or local authority)
Excellent knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy
Strong report writing and communication skills
A proactive, commercially aware mindset and the confidence to manage client relationships
A full UK driving licence is essential
Competitive salary of £45,000-£60,000 depending on experience
Discretionary bonus
Flexible working with a hybrid model (2-3 days in office per week)
