Job summary

Prime Appointments is looking for a skilled Toolmaker to join a respected manufacturer based in Mildenhall, Suffolk. The role covers the creation, upkeep and enhancement of production tooling within a hands-on workshop environment.

The ideal candidate will have proven toolmaking experience, be comfortable using toolroom/workshop machinery and hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Toolmaking. Ongoing training and a clear development path are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Toolmaker or in a toolroom environment.
• Experience using toolroom/workshop machinery.
• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Toolmaking.
• Self-motivated with strong teamwork and communication.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, modify, repair, and maintain production tooling and fixtures
• Work with traditional toolroom and workshop machinery
• Support production by troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing improvements
• Assist with tooling trials, testing, and fault finding
• Carry out preventative maintenance to ensure tooling reliability and longevity
• Maintain accurate documentation relating to tooling and maintenance activities
• Work within ISO quality and regulatory standards
• Attend occasional UK/international travel for project-related work
• Participate in relevant training courses to support ongoing development
