Company Overview

My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Tooling Design Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar Tooling or Design Engineering position
  • Strong experience with injection moulded plastics
  • Ideally be experienced designing mould tools
  • Knowledge of tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Design or similar
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, Inventor etc.
  • Experienced with machining and manufacturing precision parts and components
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
Responsibilities
  • Designing tooling for use in plastic injection moulding, casting, and assembly
  • Designing mould tools and press tools
  • Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
  • Using SolidWorks on a daily basis
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Being involved in final assembly of products
  • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign off
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
