Job description
Senior Therapy Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Therapy Assistant to join our forward-thinking and dynamic integrated Therapy Team on a number of wards in one of the following specialities: surgical, orthopaedics or medicine.

You will work within an integrated model of care to provide timely assessments, rehabilitation, and support with discharge planning for our patients.

You will gain experience of working in a busy and pro‑active environment where evidence‑based practice is embedded and joint working, service development and CPD is encouraged.

We are looking for individuals who work well as part of a team and can contribute to innovative ideas on clinical pathways and can help drive forward excellence.

You must be adaptable to working with a range of patients and working environments with a flexible approach to the delivery of care. This must include a willingness to adopt working patterns that include weekends and public/bank holidays which may form part of your contracted hours or may include working additional hours.

Main duties of the job

Within this role you will work as part of the Integrated Therapy team, in the speciality of surgery, medicine or orthopaedics.

You will provide interventions for a delegated caseload of patients, with support and supervision of a qualified therapist, undertaking administrative and stock control duties as requested to support the Integrated therapy services.

Changes to the UK immigration policy introduced on the 9th April 2025, increased the minimum salary threshold for certificates of sponsorship applications for Health and Care Worker Visa from £23,200 (£11.90 per hour) to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary point from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold, and therefore not eligible for sponsorship. Essential Qualifications
  • 3 A-Levels or Health and Science T-Level or equivalent level 3 qualification(s) and Functional Skills (level 2) Or - as a level 3 apprenticeship, such as the Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship (or other level 3 qualification pathway)
  • Achievement of national Care Certificate or willingness to work towards
