A healthcare organization in the UK is seeking a Senior Theatre Support Worker to join their Ophthalmology theatres team. This role involves assisting with patient care, managing theatre lists, and ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Candidates must have NVQ3 or equivalent in care and demonstrate a commitment to high standards of patient care. This position offers a salary range from £24,937 to £26,598 annually, pro rata, and requires basic IT skills.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Ophthalmology theatres. We are looking to recruit 3 Band 3 Senior Theatre Support Workers to join our friendly team, based on the Royal Liverpool Hospital site.
The successful candidate will assist the theatre team in the planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will assist in the smooth running of theatre lists, sending for patients as required and escorting patients to theatre and post‑op to the Theatre Admissions Unit with appropriate handovers, monitoring patients’ condition and seeking advice where there is cause for concern.
In 2025 we are welcoming the introduction of a dedicated Cataract Treatment Centre in which the role of the Senior Theatre Support worker will be essential. This is a very exciting project for Ophthalmology.
