Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join its Operating Theatres team in Bristol. You will support Scrub Practitioners, ODPs, Surgeons and Anaesthetists, helping prepare, operate and maintain the theatre environment.

The role emphasizes infection control, correct handling of theatre equipment and patient comfort, dignity and safety throughout procedures, including care for those under local anaesthetic.

Formación

• NVQ Level 3 / QCF Diploma in Healthcare is required or desirable.
• Experience as Healthcare Support Worker in operating theatres is preferred.
• Able to work in high-pressure surgical environments.

Responsabilidades

• Communicate with the theatre team and participate in safety briefs.
• Maintain infection control procedures.
• Prepare and clean theatres before/after procedures.
• Understand and position theatre equipment correctly.
• Assist with instrument handling and safety checks.
• Support scrub practitioner with instrument preparation and safety checks.
• Assist with patient documentation and care.
• Support patients' comfort, privacy, dignity, and warmth during procedures.
• Engage with patients undergoing procedures under local anaesthetic to reassure them.
• Contribute to patient safety as a core priority in theatres.
