Responsibilities
  • Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to call out and report safety concerns.
  • Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff in full compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health’s Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence‑based guidelines.
  • Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion and supporting them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians within the hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Take charge of a theatre, co‑ordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.
Qualifications

As a Senior Theatre Practitioner at our hospital, you are registered with the appropriate governing body and hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including HCPC registration. You bring a passion for high standards in perioperative care, a meticulous eye for detail and post‑registration experience. You are a focused, flexible and motivated team worker.

Location & Hospital Details

Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital is located in Jesmond. We are one of the North East’s leading private hospitals with a Good CQC rating, 27 en‑suite private bedrooms, 3 state‑of‑the‑art operating theatres, a dedicated breast care unit, on‑site pathology services and diagnostic imaging including CT and MRI. We have on‑site physiotherapy specialists and a special focus on orthopaedics, spinal surgery, ophthalmology, weight loss surgery and cosmetic treatment.
