Job summary

Leonardo in Southampton is seeking a Principal Test Systems Engineer to lead the specification, design, and deployment of test equipment for infrared detectors. The role involves hands-on testing of electro-optical and thermal systems and coordinating a multi-disciplined team to meet project budgets and timelines.

The successful candidate will own test work packages, manage cost estimates, and present governance documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Test Engineer with hands-on test capability.
• Ability to verify and validate electro-mechanical test systems and diagnose faults.
• Experience integrating test equipment with electro-optical and thermal systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of work packages, delivering on time and on budget.
• Lead test system development for detector/module projects and document governance.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams and present technical status to stakeholders.
