DVSA.GOV is seeking a Senior Test Engineer in the UK to lead scalable automated and manual testing, shaping testing standards and tools across projects. The role emphasises early quality, test-driven development and ongoing process improvement.

You will guide test planning, execution, and mentoring, ensuring environments and data support testing needs. Hybrid working is available with a strong focus on delivering reliable software for public services.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing within a large-scale ICT estate, including integrating new and legacy products.
• Experience building test frameworks and detailed knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Scala).
• Ability to rapidly research and learn new testing tools and techniques and to mentor others in QA practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage all test processes, including test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability.
• Coordinate and communicate system and acceptance test planning within projects.
• Provide authoritative guidance on test planning and execution and coach QA staff.
