A leading NHS Trust in Greater London is looking for a senior aseptic services technician to join their dynamic team. You will supervise junior staff, ensure GMP compliance, and participate in training. The role is crucial for maintaining high standards of patient care in aseptic services. An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and self‑motivated professional to join our aseptic team at the Chelsea site of the Royal Marsden.
You will be part of a team consisting of pharmacists, technicians and assistants, who are always striving for excellence in all aspects of our work. We are working collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure we always deliver outstanding care to our patients.
This is an exciting time to join the Royal Marsden Hospital aseptic department. Our service is built around providing a high‑quality service to our patients and staff of the Trust. The Oak Cancer Centre (a new, state‑of‑the‑art treatment and research facility) was opened in June 2023 in Chelsea, which will speed up the translation of world‑leading research into breakthroughs in treatment and care, transforming the lives of cancer patients at the Royal Marsden and beyond.
Over the next 1‑2 years we are planning to build a new aseptic facility on our Chelsea site.
The hospital recently introduced the EPIC digital health record system – and we are looking to use the full capabilities of this system to support the pharmacy aseptic service and become a truly paperless department.
The job description outlines the roles of the senior aseptic services technician. You will work closely with and support the deputy chief technician in the day‑to‑day running of the technical services aseptic suite, providing a quality, GMP‑compliant service, supplying aseptically prepared medicines including clinical trials, in a timely manner to all service users.
You will act as a supervisor under the direction of the deputy chief technician in the aseptic suite or its support areas and to line‑manage and act as a role‑model for junior members of staff.
