We are seeking a highly motivated, student focussed Senior Technician to join our dedicated Falmouth Campus Technical Team. You will be based on our stunning Falmouth Campus, Woodlane, in Cornwall which is the home of a creative cluster of courses, including Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Art, and Drawing, alongside the Architecture, Interior Design, and Sustainable Product Design courses.
The successful candidate will be an experienced user of AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD and will play a key role in providing expert technical guidance to support student software training for our Architecture and Interior Architecture/Design courses.
The scope of the role involves directly training students in learning industry relevant software skills within a training suite and then triage support in small groups and in 1-to-1 sessions in studios on campus. You will have time each week to develop your knowledge, skills, and training materials to ensure currency and relevant graduate skills.
As part of the wider campus technical team, you will also be a link with architectural model making in 3D printing, CNC machining, and laser cutting supporting students with file preparation and realising their ideas. There are plans to continue to develop use of AR and VR within AEC applications and for you to work supporting academic research. The successful candidate will understand the use and application of BIM and be confident in the language and materials of construction as well as the needs of built environment practice in CAD data format, handling, and use.
