Job summary

FJN Growth Solutions is seeking a senior Underwriting professional to support the Underwriting Manager in governance, technical framework and development of tailored insurance products, delegated authority arrangements and reinsurance treaties.

The role connects Partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, providing governance oversight, technical expertise and high-quality service, and requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge and the ability to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong underwriting experience across commercial and consumer insurance.
• Experience managing delegated authority and treaty reinsurance.
• In-depth regulatory knowledge for commercial and retail insurance.
• Experience drafting policy wordings, binding authority, and reinsurance treaties.
• Governance, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in project-based or Agile environments.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organised, collaborative and able to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to build relationships across a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic underwriting growth plans in line with standards and objectives.
• Manage partner relationships, including leading partner meetings.
• Own and maintain governance framework with relevant teams.
• Monitor regulatory developments and apply to distribution strategies.
• Develop technical capability through guidance and training.
• Oversee policy wordings, delegated authority arrangements and reinsurance treaties.
• Ensure processes for changes to partner contracts and underwriting arrangements.
• Align products and propositions with underwriting and distribution strategies.
• Contribute to delegated authority and treaty governance improvements.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across products and propositions.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate leadership and contribute to a high-performance culture.
• Represent the organisation at industry events and conferences.
• Deliver technical training to internal and external audiences.
