Description

New opportunity great management team

To provide a technical role to manage with the more complex subsidence claims, and to provide additional expertise to the subsidence team and clients. The role will effectively manage the more complex claims, and any claims, which require a stabilisation scheme; as well as being a technical referral point to other members of the Davies team. The successful candidate will need to have a willingness to travel within the UK and flexibility in working arrangements to meet business requirements. To visit damaged properties and assess technical and insurance aspects required to resolve insurance claims

What will your day look like:

The successful candidate will need to have a willingness to travel within the UK and flexibility in working arrangements to meet business requirements. To visit damaged properties and assess technical and insurance aspects required to resolve insurance claims and to reinstate damaged buildings. To understand, implement and comply with company procedures and policies. To liaise with clients, policyholders, local authorities, third parties, claims handlers and other work colleagues as required. To maintain and update accurate records on the company claims management IT system. To proactively work on own initiative and manage a portfolio of work within a regional area and assist in other areas as and when required. The role will be home based, and the employee will be required to maintain a suitable home office environment. There will be a requirement to attend local company offices from time to time. A company car will be provided and full driver’s license is required.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To provide Technical assistance & Project managed services in connection with domestic and commercial buildings for more complex subsidence claims.
  • To proactively manage own work efficiently and effectively to achieve business objectives and meet defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Manage claims with statutory requirements, i.e. Building regs, Planning , Listed building.
  • Identifying causes of damage and construction defects, assessing repair requirements, scheduling necessary building repair works.
  • Investigation and resolution of subsidence claims.
  • High standard of Building pathology.
  • Understanding of buildings insurance policies and insurance law.
  • Professional report writing and other general correspondence, including consultation reports.
  • Specification of site investigations and interpretation of geotechnical reports.
  • Building construction and foundation systems.
  • Obtaining competitive tenders, tender assessment and recommendations.
  • Health & Safety Legislation & CDM Regulations.
  • Party Wall etc Act.
  • Administration of building contracts and related contract law.
  • Project management of building works onsite, valuing and authorising contractual payments and agreeing variations.
  • Experience of cost control and financial awareness.

Produce reports, tender documents and contract administration of highest quality.

Work within a team environment to achieve best results either on individual losses or group results.

Interact with existing clients to maintain and further existing relations and procure new business.

Utilisation of other Davies Group businesses for the benefit of policyholders.

Assist with Subsidence training & presenting training to other team members and clients.

Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Required to have suitable experience to deal with highly complex subsidence claims.
  • Educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline, e.g. Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or similar.
  • Enthusiastic.
  • Top quality interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding and recognition of Customer Service and Quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Dependability and persistence are essential.
  • Good Numeracy skills.
  • Completely flexible approach and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Accustomed to working under pressure in a fast pace, demanding environment.
  • Liaison with: Directors, Associate Directors, Managers, Loss Adjusters, Support Staff, Clients, Customers, Suppliers as necessary.
  • Full, clean driving license required.
