Job summary

A leading Technology company based in Silchester is seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer. This full-time role involves providing high-level technical assistance and support, primarily focusing on customer sites within a 50-mile radius of Silchester. Candidates should have expertise in Microsoft 365, VMWare, and networking, with a preferred background in Managed Service Providers (MSPs). Competitive salary offered between £35,000 and £45,000.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, and AutoPilot.
  • Experience with VMWare ESX, vCenter, and Hyper-V.
  • Strong understanding of networking, including LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, and wireless solutions.
  • Certifications or a technical qualification in IT is required.
  • Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end project delivery and solution implementation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with operating systems and software applications.
  • Assist team members with project management and training needs.
  • Conduct software troubleshooting and suggest improvements.

Senior Technical Support Engineer - Silchester - Onsite with flexibility to travel - £35,000 to £45,000 per year.

FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a leading Technology company to assist with their recruitment of a Senior Technical Support Engineer.

The successful candidate will provide high‑level technical assistance and support, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, software, and hardware. This role will be a full-time position based out of our Silchester office with around 60% of your time spent at customer sites (majority within a 50 miles radius of Silchester).

Specific responsibilities include:
  • End‑to‑end project delivery, providing solution implementation, project management and pre/post‑project support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, software applications, and hardware components.
  • Assist with setting up and configuring computer systems.
  • Conduct software troubleshooting and recommend solutions.
  • Assisting other team members including communicating company strategies, team goals, project deadlines, identifying training needs and skill management.
Experience/Qualification:
  • Microsoft 365 Teams Exchange SharePoint, Intune and AutoPilot.
  • VMWare ESX, vCenter and/or Hyper‑V.
  • Backup, Firewalls and Email Security
  • LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN and Wireless
  • Certifications or a technical qualification in IT.
  • Excellent knowledge of Sophos, Egnyte and Ubiquiti would be highly beneficial.
  • Background of working for an MSP.
