Job summary

A global engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Technical Planner to support major infrastructure projects from their Stockport or Glasgow offices. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and experience with tools like Primavera P6. Qualifications

• High calibre candidate required with relevant experience.
• Experience in project management and construction methodologies essential.
• Driving licence required for travel to project sites.
• Full right to live and work in the UK; occasional travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of major infrastructure projects.
• Continuous improvement of services provided to clients.
• Prepare progress reports and KPI dashboards for clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, managers and contractors to optimise schedules.

Skills

Development and analysis of complex project programmes and schedules

Project management software including Primavera P6

Probability analysis e.g. Monte Carlo and Primavera risk analysis

Critical path and delay analysis techniques

Strong analytical skills

Excellent people and communication skills

Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power BI

Fichtner is global engineering consultancy established in 1922 with over 2000 employees over 170 countries. Within the UK and Ireland our engineers and consultants are involved in some of the most innovative energy projects across the UK providing design, intellectual, and engineering services to developers, investors, owners, and operators. Projects in development, construction, or operation in the UK and Ireland, include more than:

We are now looking to recruit an experienced technical planner in a permanent capacity to support ongoing roles in the delivery of major infrastructure projects and support the continuous improvement of the services we provide our clients. We can base this role from our Stockport or Glasgow offices.

We are looking for:

A high calibre candidate with most of the following skills or experience:

• Development and analysis of complex project programmes and schedules.
• Project management software including Primavera P6.
• Probability analysis e.g. Monte Carlo and Primavera risk analysis.
• Best practises for assessing, recording, and reporting progress including leading and lagging KPI’s.
• Critical path and delay analysis techniques.
• Awareness of claims management and standard forms of contracts.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent people and communication skills.
• Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power BI.
• Full right to live and work in the UK.
• A current driving licence for occasional travel to project sites in the UK and Ireland.
