On behalf of our client, Royal London we are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager for a 6 month contract based in Manchester with remote work available.

Purpose of the role :

We have a unique opportunity to offer a Senior Technical Project Manager role within the Chief Operating Office that will help shape the future of Royal London. This role is focused on system upgrades and contributes to our purpose of strengthening the mutual choice for our customers, by providing the best technology solutions to our customers.

What you’ll do :

• Manage complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business.
• Full project life cycle management from initiation to deployment, with proven ability to operate at different stages of the project cycle simultaneously.
• Promote continuous improvement by actively engaging within colleagues across CIOs and other areas of Royal London.
• Build a collaborative, commercial relationship with 3rd parties to manage costs and maximise value.
• Deliver Technical Upgrade Projects including, Operating System Changes, Platform rehosting from On-Premise to cloud and software upgrades

The skills you’ll need :

• Proven track record of successful project and programme delivery, ideally in a Financial Services environment.
• Previous experience of leading Technical Teams to upgrade systems infrastructure minimising impacts to colleagues and customers.
• Experience of building and leading high performing teams, creating a supportive environment to maximise colleague contribution and engagement.
• Highly competent in use of planning tools and experienced in operating financial and risk control frameworks in a project setting.
• Proactivity and future thinking around the management and control of programme / project costs and benefits.
• Strong stakeholder management experience at all levels up to C‑suite.
• Thorough understanding of different project delivery methodologies and ways of working and able to adopt the most suitable approach to a given project.
• A self‑starter, able to work with minimum supervision or direction.
