Overview

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join the Co-Lo Team within one of our Financial Services clients. The ideal candidate will possess management skills in leading internal and external project teams, contingent/contract workers, as well as providing relationship management services and oversight on services rendered by strategic partners and service providers.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.

Responsibilities
  • Engage and communicate effectively and successfully with all stakeholders from high frequency trading teams
  • Discuss requirements and define the solution working with other IT teams.
  • Define, plan, document and communicate project scope, implementation, closure and timelines.
  • Implement projects to the required level of quality
  • Manage a project through its lifecycle, coordinating all input from IT teams
  • Report on project status using suitable reporting tools.
  • Effectively and proactively manage and report on all project risks (including contingency planning), taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Solicit and gain buy-in from project stakeholders to project approach and delivery objectives.
  • Undertake post project quality reviews.
  • Work with technical staff & resources as required.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years’ experience of managing multiple concurrent Global infrastructure projects in a financial services institution, specifically in exchange co-location and extranet environments used for High Frequency Algorithmic Trading business
  • Experience in managing projects related to exchange co-location and extranet silo build
  • Experience in managing client connectivity on-boarding via direct connections or network service provider
  • Experience of Change Control (change control processes and workflow, raising changes and risk associated with change).
  • Experience of successfully working with stakeholders from many business areas, backgrounds and nationalities to realise project milestones and deliverables.
  • Experience of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, across multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects or initiatives in an Agile environment, utilising agile methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban and SAFe
  • Knowledge and experience of networking technologies such as Cisco, F5, Arista, Juniper, McAfee and Checkpoint
  • Understanding of Ethernet, Spanning Tree, TCP/IP, Routing (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)
  • Experience of creating, presenting Project reports and stakeholder updates to senior management
  • Technical ability to understand Network Design Guidelines, create equipment lists and create technical solutions based on these guidelines
  • Extensive experience with liaising with carriers and vendors for installations
