Job summary

Delta Live is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Production Manager to oversee the technical delivery of live events from brief to close-out. You will coordinate across lighting, video, audio, rigging and power, leading on-site teams and ensuring safety, quality and client satisfaction.

The role combines project management, commercial awareness and technical leadership, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, documentation and stakeholder communication throughout the full production

Responsibilities

• Take organisational ownership of projects from initial enquiry and technical brief through to onsite delivery and final project close-out
• Interpret client and production requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
• Lead the technical planning and coordination of events, ensuring all production requirements are identified, understood and achievable
• Develop and put in place production schedules, technical plans, equipment requirements, crew requirements and supplier requirements, using inhouse resources whenever possible
• Maintain clear project documentation, using our inhouse systems, ensuring information is accurate, current and communicated to relevant stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, budget, programme and quality expectations
• Ensure projects are planned and delivered in accordance with company health and safety procedures and relevant legislation by producing and sharing the appropriate RAMS, risk assessments, method statements and any other client required documentation
• Take a senior leadership role in the delivery of events onsite
• Coordinate technical teams and suppliers during build, rehearsals, show operation and breakdown
• Act as a senior escalation point for technical or operational problems
• Coordinate communication between technical disciplines and wider production teams
• Maintain a calm, professional and solutions-focused approach during challenging or time-critical situations
• Ensure agreed technical standards and client requirements are maintained throughout the event
• Lead or support onsite technical meetings, briefings and production reviews

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Production Manager to take responsibility for the successful technical delivery of live events from initial client brief through to project completion.

Working across the full 360° production cycle, this role combines technical expertise, project management, commercial awareness and client service to ensure events are planned, resourced and delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest professional standards across lighting, video, audio, rigging and power requirements.

Technical Production Management

Technical Leadership

• Work across audio, lighting, video, rigging, power, staging and associated technical systems, with sufficient technical understanding to coordinate specialist teams effectively
• Review and develop appropriate technical designs, production drawings, equipment specifications and system requirements to deliver show requirements and customer expectations
• Work with Heads of Discipline and technical specialists to develop appropriate technical solutions that are realistic, practical and suitable for the venue and event environment and support any technical integration between the different disciplines
• Prepare and manage project budgets, quotations and technical costings as requested
• Monitor project expenditure, committed costs and changes to scope throughout the project. Identify and communicate variations, additional requirements and potential commercial exposure. Gain appropriate approval for changes to project scope or expenditure where necessary
• Act as a senior technical point of contact for clients and the production team, managing expectations where necessary
• Represent the company by building strong, professional relationships based on trust, responsiveness and technical credibility. Where appropriate, attend client, production and technical meetings/events

Onsite Delivery

• Take a senior leadership role in the delivery of events onsite
• Coordinate technical teams and suppliers during build, rehearsals, show operation and breakdown

Profile

Key Skills & Experience

• At least 3 years’ experience in technical production management within a commercial AV, live events or event production environment
• Proven experience managing technically complex, mid-to-large-scale live events – circa £2500 - £250,000
• Strong understanding of multiple technical disciplines including audio, lighting, video, rigging, power and associated production systems
• Experience managing the full project lifecycle from initial brief through to onsite delivery and close-out
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, quotations, suppliers and project costs
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical production solutions
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously
• Experience managing technical teams, freelancers and external suppliers
• Strong understanding of event health and safety requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, time-critical live event environment
• High level of attention to detail combined with the ability to maintain an overview of the wider project
• Proficient in relevant production, project management and technical documentation systems
• Right to work in the UK required
