Referment is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to define the core platform roadmap for cloud-native banking and payments software. You’ll partner with Engineering leadership on data consistency, performance at scale, and developer experience.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering, GTM, Customer Success and Client Services to translate bank and developer feedback into platform capabilities, including APIs and guided user journeys for client adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience in a product-led technology company, delivering technical, API-driven or infrastructure products.
• Ability to reason from first principles and discuss complex system behavior including consistency and availability in a ledger.
• Strong client-facing communication with enterprise architects and CTOs.

Referment is working with a banking technology company that develops cloud-native core banking and payments software for financial institutions. Its core platform supports the products banks offer their customers, making data integrity, resilience and performance central to the product decisions you'll make.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you'll define the core platform roadmap and work closely with Engineering leadership on challenges such as data consistency, performance at scale and the developer experience. This is a technical product role: you'll need to engage with architecture choices as confidently as you discuss customer needs and commercial priorities.

You'll work across Engineering, go-to-market teams, Customer Success and Client Services to turn bank and developer feedback into platform capabilities. The remit connects product strategy with implementation, including APIs and user journeys that help clients build and launch financial products.

The Role

• Define and drive the core platform strategy and roadmap, balancing configurability, performance and resilience.
• Work with Engineering leadership to assess technical trade-offs and shape APIs and developer workflows.
• Represent banks and their developers in product decisions, using feedback to focus engineering work on practical core banking problems.
• Help Client Services and implementation partners align complex client requirements with the platform's technical capabilities.
• Communicate the product vision and technical functionality to internal teams and clients, supporting adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Develop product management practices with Engineering Managers and help embed them across the core platform domain.

What We're Looking For

• At least five years of product management experience in a product-led technology company, with delivery of technical, API-driven or infrastructure products.
• The ability to reason from first principles and debate complex system behaviour, including consistency and availability in a ledger.
• Strong client-facing communication, including technical discussions with enterprise architects and CTOs.
• Comfort writing simple scripts in a language such as Python, alongside the ability to learn unfamiliar technical concepts.
• Commercial judgement that connects platform decisions with customer adoption and outcomes.

Useful Additional Experience

Banking or other regulated industries, enterprise B2B platforms and a previous software engineering or similarly technical role would all be useful, but are not mandatory.

This could suit a technical platform product manager who enjoys working closely with engineers while staying involved in customer conversations and complex implementations.
