Based in Warwickshire my client is a fast-growing gaming developer working on exciting projects with a long-term pipeline of work to fuel further growth of the business and your career.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role you will be responsible for the design and implementation of this employers platform’s Hub, working alongside a Level Designer or Environment Artist and supported by other members of the Development Team (including audio and UI support).
- Own and oversee the Hub gameplay design and implementation
- Complete reusable scripted gameplay to a high level of polish
- Prototype gameplay designs to illustrate concepts
- Oversee playtesting and use generated data to iterate design
- Generate paper designs for sign-off by stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years professional experience in gameplay scripting, technical design, or equivalent
- Deep experience with developing complex systems through Lua scripting
- Experience whiteboxing game levels
- Interest in and understanding of a broad variety of game genres and styles
- Understanding of different audiences and their goals/drivers
- A portfolio demonstrating a proven track record of delivering release-quality gameplay experiences as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous experience in creating and manipulating voxel-based environments
- Experience in independently delivering gameplay experiences
- HTML/CSS/JS skills for creation of UI elements
- Environment and level-building to final quality
- Experience working with UGC editors (eg Roblox)
- Experience working within structured production processes
