Position

As a Senior Technical Designer at HDR you will work on projects in a variety of sectors with a focus on data centre and mission critical projects. You’ll be working closely with the multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors throughout our Global Practice with a focus in the United Kingdom and European regions.

Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Technical Designer, we \ 'll count on you to:

  • Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects
  • Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings
  • Prepare drawings and specification documents
  • Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
  • Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in A/E industry
  • Strong organizational skills, understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and models
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible; knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of buildings
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture
Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working with Data Centre/ Mission Critical projects
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
