Senior Technical Clerk to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

What you\'ll be doing

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Technical Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide the MEI construction department with technical support such as document control, management of change, preparing technical documents, time keeping reports, reporting trackers, reporting dashboards, report writing, vendor call off’s, technical queries and data input to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in our MEI operations. This role requires a deep understanding of document control, data input and multidiscipline technical understanding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the efficient implementation of all systems in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS), including but not limited to; HR and QA/QC procedures
  • Working with the Management Team to ensure that all works are completed in-line with corporate procedures and maintaining accurate records of people and competency
  • Supporting document control for office and site activities ensuring records of documents are transmitted in a correct and controlled manner
  • Assisting in the population of Lifetime quality records (LTQRs)
  • Where required, assisting project teams in the development of performance management tools, inclusive of reconciliations
  • Ensuring the cable software management system is up to date with key information from daily field reports
  • Production of cable pull cards from cable management system
  • Maintenance of Cable Schedule with As-Built information
  • Supporting Superintendents and Supervisors with technical information for workpacks
  • Maintaining a workpack register and ensuring engineering information is kept up to date and any outdated information is removed from soft and hard copy workpacks
  • Responsible for tracking Technical Queries responses in a timely manner, highlighting any problems to discipline leads
  • Completing any other duties as required in relations to skills, activities, status etc as required
  • Deliver a broad range of Business administrative services including document control for E&I department and data input
  • Obtain supplier quotations, complete material requisitions for purchasing
  • Compile delivery dockets and complete GRNs (Goods received Notes)
  • Manage the purchasing of Equipment / Stationery for office
  • Carry out weekly checks of timesheets and clock reports
  • Assist with the site Plant and Tool Register
  • Liaise with internal departments, subcontractor’s and client teams
  • Assist with onboarding and start up procedure for new employees in both head office and sites
  • Assist with sourcing labour and accommodation for projects
  • Assist E&I Engineering team with all aspects of maintaining registers, trackers and MoM
  • Custodian of Engineering registers and document revision control
  • Superuser of Cable management software
  • Liaising site HSEQ Audits for ISO Purposes
  • Ad hoc assistance to all aspects of running an efficient and productive project

Who we\'re looking for

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach and positive attitude
  • Good communication skills - written / verbal
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload, flexibility, and drive to finish key activities through to completion
  • Excellent working knowledge MS Office applications is essential
  • Good working knowledge of cable management systems
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and functions, including formulas
  • Good technical writing capability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 standards
  • Ability to build strong relationships with delivery teams and project managers
  • Ability to work closely with construction teams, preparing documentation and managing change
  • Ability to evaluate technical and prequalification documents
  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion
  • Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective and persuasive manner
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior management
  • Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function
  • Has an enquiring and questioning approach to audit work
  • Can obtain the security clearances, if required
  • High levels of integrity
  • Able to constantly focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
