Job description

Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Senior Technical Architect (Cloud Data Centre Migration) on a 5 months contract with a possibility of further extension.

Cloud datacentre application hosting migration. VMWare specialist with AVS, supporting migration planning, design and implementation

Day to day candidates will be focused on a range of tasks, including actual configuration and implementation, testing, documentation, knowledge transfer.

There may also be a requirement to contribute to procurement requirement specification.

Main Areas of Responsibility

• Design and implement cloud migration strategies, including the assessment of current infrastructure and the development of migration plans
• Develop and maintain architecture blueprints and roadmaps for cloud solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and ensure best practices are followed
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of the cloud environment to ensure compliance with security and governance policies
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the council’s IT infrastructure
• Work with vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions as needed
• Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on cloud solutions and best practices
• As a Senior Technical Architect, you will be a highly experienced and accomplished architect recognised for the ability take on our biggest and most complex architecture and design challenges. You will be able to operate effectively when the situations encountered are dynamic, evolving, or novel in complexity. You will be mentoring or leading other ICT staff
• Applying the organisations EA framework in the development of ICT strategy, roadmaps and complex solutions. Support the Head of Design and Strategy, Enterprise Architect, Senior / technical Architects in the application of these frameworks to solutions. Assure, manage, and govern solution design activities in line with frameworks.

Qualification and training

Essential

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent
