Job summary

Kainos is looking for a software leader in the Belfast area to help design and own the architecture of modern applications. The role focuses on delivering robust, scalable software while shaping the technical direction and roadmap.

You will mentor junior engineers, communicate complex designs effectively, and ensure architectural decisions align with business needs and cloud best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Springboot and AWS.
• Proven ability to deliver software designs for multi‑tier applications.
• Technical ownership for a product/project, including architecture and planning.
• Incorporation of non‑functional requirements into design.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) including SaaS/PaaS.
• Clear communication of technical design in talking, writing and presentations.
• Decisive in fast‑moving delivery environments.
• Proven track record of coaching and developing junior teammates.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical ownership for a product or project, including architecture, estimation and planning.
• Translate requirements into scalable, robust software designs for multi‑tier systems.
• Incorporate non‑functional requirements into architecture and implementation.
• Communicate technical designs clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Coach and develop junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
