As a Senior Technical Architect at DWP Digital, you will support major initiatives by designing complex IT solutions that meet strategic goals and governance standards. Youll evaluate technical options, assure supplier architectures, and guide technology choices across teams. Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Architect youll work across major initiatives, supporting the design and delivery of complex IT solutions that meet strategic goals, quality standards and cost constraints. Youll collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders and vendors to evaluate technical options, provide expert advice, and ensure solutions align with DWP's architecture governance. Youll lead the technical design of systems and services, review supplier architectures, and assure the quality of technical work across multiple teams. Youll mentor others, contribute to cross-government alignment, and help drive technology choices that support our mission to deliver exceptional products and services.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
  • Architecture Across Environments - You can design architecture across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, covering networking, security, presentation, middleware, database, and integration layers.
  • Principled Design - You can apply architecture principles, patterns, technical radars, and standards to inform robust and scalable design decisions.
  • Lifecycle Engagement - You can work with delivery teams in agile, waterfall, and hybrid environments, supporting architecture design from concept through to go-live.
  • Business-to-Technical Translation - You can translate business requirements into technical solutions with clear traceability that stakeholders can understand and trust.
  • Modelling & Representation - You can use architecture modelling techniques and tools to devise, document, and communicate design effectively.
  • Vendor & Product Management - You can work with third-party vendors, evaluate software products, develop roadmaps, and manage external software solutions to align with strategic goals.
