Talent is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join a Government client, blending strategic architecture with hands-on delivery guidance for a cloud-native platform.

The role leads architectural decisions, defines non-functional requirements, ensures system resilience, and drives artefacts through internal assurance channels, with 3 days a week on-site in Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester.

Qualifications

• Proven background as Technical or Solution Architect on large-scale cloud digital services.
• Strong expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
• Ability to navigate high-level strategic alignment and complex technical discussions without hands-on coding.
• Exceptional communication to engage both engineers and senior leadership.

• Architectural Leadership: Shape strategic solution design and provide end-to-end architecture governance across a distributed, cloud-native platform.
• Engineering Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional delivery teams to guide technical decisions, define NFRs, and ensure system resilience and scalability.
• Artefact and Governance Creation: Produce high-quality architecture artefacts and drive solutions through internal assurance channels.
• Operational Readiness: Define robust disaster recovery approaches, auto-scaling strategies, and support models to enable seamless, large-scale service adoption.

• Strategic Oversight: Ability to navigate high-level strategic alignment and complex technical discussions without requiring hands-on coding.
• Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills to engage, negotiate, and align both technical engineers and senior non-technical leadership.

Desirable Experience

• Hands-on experience delivering projects within Central Government departments
• Direct experience taking digital services from Beta through to large-scale production rollout.
• Hands-on experience establishing operational readiness frameworks and non-functional requirements for complex public-sector environments.
