Senior Team Leader – Building Cleaning

We’re looking for a confident, people-focused leader to take charge of our Building Cleaning Service at Chesterfield Borough Council. If you’re someone who can rally a team, solve problems on the spot and raise standards across the board, this is your next move.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and inspire cleaning teams to deliver spotless, high-quality results across our buildings.
  • Manage people, equipment, materials and budgets with confidence.
  • Hold regular check‑ins and develop your team to be flexible, motivated and customer focused.
  • Drive smarter, safer and more efficient ways of working.
  • Champion top‑tier Health & Safety standards and support investigations where needed.
  • Step in operationally when required, you’ll be hands‑on and ready to help.
  • Spot opportunities to improve our service and add real value.
What You Bring
  • Energy, initiative and a can‑do, lead‑from‑the‑front attitude.
  • Experience in cleaning services and working across different teams.
  • Strong communication and people‑management skills.
  • Confidence in managing workloads, deadlines and customer expectations.
  • An understanding of Health & Safety and why it matters.

NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and a full driving licence.
