Salary: 22,719 - 24,200 (actual salary)

Are you an experienced Senior Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Aylesbury? This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school community where you will play a vital part in pupils' learning and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities for the Senior Teaching Assistant role include:
  • Acting as a Cover Supervisor, supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences in Aylesbury.
  • Providing targeted support and intervention by working with withdrawal groups and small groups of pupils.
  • Leading and managing a team of Assistant Teachers, supporting their development and training.
  • Collaborating closely with teaching staff to assist in all stages of the planning cycle and managing/preparing classroom resources.
  • Complementing teachers' delivery of the national curriculum, contributing to the development of pupils, support staff, and Academy policies.
  • Supporting pupils across a range of needs including SEN, EAL, and more, to raise achievement and encourage independent learning.

In this Senior Teaching Assistant position, you will teach within an agreed framework, provide detailed feedback on lessons and pupil behaviour, motivate learners through structured activities, and promote inclusion in line with Academy policies. You will also monitor pupil progress, assist in assessments, and participate in parent meetings, supporting the wider teaching team in Aylesbury.

As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will take on mentoring responsibilities, guiding other Assistant Teachers and helping to lead training and development initiatives within the school. You will also contribute positively to the Academy's ethos by attending meetings and training, supporting safeguarding and equal opportunities.
