Job summary

A leading supply chain solutions provider is seeking a Senior Tax Manager in Northampton. In this full-time role, you will manage corporate income tax matters for the UK & Ireland, including compliance and reporting. The ideal candidate has ACA or CTA qualifications and extensive experience in tax, particularly within a Big-4 or multinational environment. Qualifications

We are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, to be based from our UK head office in Northampton.

We’re looking to offer a salary of £80,000 - £90,000 depending on experience, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Manage all corporate income tax (CIT) matters for UK & Ireland, including US GAAP and local statutory tax accounting and reporting
  • Oversee CIT compliance, working with external service providers under co-sourcing arrangements
  • Handle cash tax payments, forecasting, and R&D credits, as well as Capital Allowances and Plastic Packaging Tax
  • Support transfer pricing, manage tax audits, and secure tax advice for strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to implement tax structuring opportunities
What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • ACA or CTA (or equivalent) qualified, with strong CIT and VAT knowledge
  • Extensive tax experience in a Big-4 and/or in-house environment, ideally within a US multinational
  • Expertise in US GAAP/IFRS tax accounting, including ASC 740/IAS 12, and familiarity with SOX requirements
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Skilled in ERP systems (Oracle/SAP/HFM) and open to occasional travel within the UK and Europe.
