Job summary

Momso Sustainable CIC in London is seeking a Senior Tailor to lead advanced tailoring and dressmaking, including garment construction, alterations, fittings, and finishing to a high standard. You will advise clients on sustainable fabric choices and construction options while delivering excellent, customer-centered service.

You will mentor less experienced sewists, support workshops, and help maintain a safe, organized studio that reflects our community-focused, sustainability-first values.

Qualifications

• Strong tailoring expertise and advanced skills in tailoring and fitting for various garments.
• Proficient in dressmaking, pattern adaptation, and finishing techniques.
• Effective communication and customer service to consult with clients and learners.
• Experience in a studio/workshop setting with health & safety awareness.

• Previous senior tailoring or alterations experience; formal training is beneficial.

Role Description

The Senior Tailor role is a full-time, on-site position based in London. The Senior Tailor will carry out advanced tailoring and dressmaking tasks, including garment construction, alterations, fittings, and finishing to a high standard. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with clients and learners, assessing fit and design requirements, and advising on sustainable fabric and construction options. The role also involves supporting workshops, mentoring less experienced team members, maintaining a safe and organized workspace, and contributing to the development of Momso Sustainable's apparel projects. The Senior Tailor will collaborate closely with the team to ensure high-quality, customer-centered service aligned with the organization's sustainable and community-focused values.
