Lockheed Martin Ampthill is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our team in Ampthill, UK. The role supports safety processes and artefacts to comply with IEC 61508 for SIL claims, focusing on safety design reviews for systems, equipment, and operations.

You will lead a team, develop ALARP strategies, hazard analyses, and safety documentation, participate in investigations, and ensure compliance with UK MOD standards (Def Stan 00-056, ASEMS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 9 years of professional experience, or 7 years with a related Masters degree.
• Proven experience in safety-related role within a defence context and knowledge of UK MOD safety management standards.

Responsabilités

• Evolve and review safety designs for products, equipment and facilities and establish safety requirements for assigned systems.
• Lead hazard analyses and ALARP strategy development.
• Develop safety documents to support customer and test/operational range requirements.
• Participate in accident investigations and identify corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Def Stan 00-056, ASEMS and related UK safety regulations.
