Job summary

Cirrus Selection is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a specialist team delivering cutting-edge defence projects. The role focuses on leading systems engineering activities, MBSE, requirements management and architecture development in a secure environment at Ampthill.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, programme leadership and stakeholders, contributing to verification, modeling and technical investigations across multiple high-profile programmes. SC clearance is eligible.

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join a specialist engineering team delivering cutting-edge projects within a highly secure environment. This is an opportunity to influence the full engineering lifecycle, contribute to advanced technology programmes, and work alongside some of the industry's leading technical experts.

• Leading and supporting systems engineering activities across complex programmes
• Requirements development and management

• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Trade studies and technical investigations

• Working closely with engineering teams, programme leadership and key stakeholders

What we are looking for

• Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience across the engineering development lifecycle
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methodologies
• Experience applying MBSE techniques
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to lead technical work packages across multiple projects

Desirable experience

• SysML/UML modelling tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody
• DOORS NG, IBM Jazz or similar requirements management tools
• Architecture frameworks including UAF or NAF
• MATLAB & Simulink
• AI/ML applications within engineering environments
• Agile software development environments
• Modelling & Simulation, CFD, trajectory modelling or complex algorithm development

Due to the nature of the work, this role is primarily site-based in Ampthill and candidates must be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance, with DV clearance viewed favourably.
