Senior Systems Developer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Information Department at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT for a highly skilled and innovative Senior Systems Developer. The department is committed to advancing its digital and information capabilities to support effective decision making and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The Senior Systems Developer will play a pivotal role in supporting the Trust’s system development, integration and application architecture. Reporting to the Head of Systems Development and Integration, and working closely with other developers within the System Development and Support (SDS) Team, the post holder will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and enhancing a range of clinical and corporate software systems. They will contribute to the delivery of reliable, secure and high-value digital solutions aligned with the Trust’s strategic priorities, ensuring systems meet the evolving needs of users across the organisation.

The Senior Systems Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and enhancing clinical and corporate software systems in alignment with Trust priorities. They will support system integration and contribute to the Trust’s wider technical and application architecture, working closely with the Head of Systems Development and Integration to deliver secure, high-quality digital solutions. The role requires strong proficiency in C# and SQL, using these skills to translate user and business requirements into clear technical specifications and to develop robust, scalable and efficient system components. The post holder will collaborate with developers, technical teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable and maintainable software, while providing ongoing technical expertise to ensure optimal system performance, data integrity and security. They will work within agile and lean development practices, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a high level of ownership and accountability. In addition, they will provide occasional day-to-day matrix management and guidance to permanent and contract staff involved in relevant development projects.
