Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust seeks a highly specialist systemic psychotherapist to support the CAMHS team in providing evidence-based systemic psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and their families and carers, in line with NICE guidance.

You will conduct complex assessments, supervise qualified and trainee therapists, and contribute to policy development, governance, and service improvement, while leading on risk management and clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in Systemic Psychotherapy.
• UKCP Registration.
• Extensive experience of working with families in a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Experience supervising staff with complex cases.
• Skills in the use of complex methods of systemic assessment and treatment of individuals, couples, family systems, groups and organisations.
• Skills in professional consultation; offering consultation to multi-disciplinary colleagues.

Responsibilities

• To provide a highly specialist systemic assessment of referrals of a significant and complex nature in order to formulate and implement plans for the treatment and/or management of a child's or adolescent's mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and employing methods based upon evidence.
• To assess complex children, adolescents and their families as part of a risk assessment.
• To consult to parents/carers as part of a treatment plan.
• To work in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds, including various family forms and interpreter use.
• To provide highly specialist evidence based systemic psychotherapy with clinical autonomy drawing on a range of models and brief interventions.
• To propose and implement policy changes and contribute to the development, implementation and audit of services for families with children presenting highly challenging behaviours.
• To ensure high quality supervision and leadership with attention to clinical standards, risk management and governance.
• To advise the team on all matters relating to the Family & Systemic psychotherapy discipline and its promotion.
