Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability & Decarbonisation Advisory team within Building Engineering. You will help major public/private clients design and deliver low-carbon, resilient estates, with a focus on UK Defence & National Security projects.

You will lead development of life-cycle carbon strategies, coordinate with designers, and deliver schemes such as BREEAM and DREAM, SAW/SEEAM assessments, and related appraisals.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and apply it to practical sustainability solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information.
• Experience of sustainable buildings, low-carbon design, and environmental performance.

Responsibilities

• Supporting clients to develop and understand their sustainability & decarbonisation requirements.
• Developing, delivering, and reviewing whole life carbon reduction strategies for various scoping mechanisms (e.g., LETI, RIBA, RICS, BREEAM).
• Liaising with clients and designers to develop decarbonisation strategies from early design through construction.
• Delivery of assessment certification schemes such as BREEAM and DREAM (LEED/WELL experience is advantageous).
• Delivery of sustainability appraisals such as SAW and SEEAM.
• Supporting project management and programming.
• Supporting work winning through the bidding process including tender responses.
• Mentoring of junior staff to upskill.
