As Senior Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the prestigious St James's portfolio at The Crown Estate. You’ll be part of our in‑house property management team, delivering best‑in‑class service across a range of mixed‑use assets. Your focus will be on achieving business plan objectives and property management targets, ensuring customer, financial, safety, and sustainability performance is met.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of day‑to‑day property management, driving consistent and high‑quality delivery.
  • Ensure accurate data and timely reporting for designated assets, meeting agreed KPIs.
  • Manage lease compliance, rent collection and financial recovery, maintaining tight controls.
  • Budget, implement, manage and reconcile service charges in line with RICS standards.
  • Manage voids, statutory compliance and operational overheads, optimising energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development, engineering, capital projects and building surveying teams to support project delivery and asset stewardship.
  • Contribute to team priorities, seeking opportunities to innovate and improve processes, systems and customer service.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.
  • Enhance customer experience through high‑quality communication and regular interaction.
  • Build strong relationships with service partners to ensure optimal service performance.
  • Support asset‑level due diligence for acquisitions and disposals.
  • Help deliver The Crown Estate's sustainability strategy, including Net Zero and local interventions.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain exemplary compliance across health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide support in crisis and incident management.
Qualifications
  • MRICS or equivalent, with at least 5 years' direct property management experience (client side or managing agent).
  • Strong ability to deliver excellent customer service and build effective relationships.
  • Proven asset management skills, driving performance in line with business priorities and KPIs.
  • Good knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, with relevant experience.
  • Experience managing mixed‑use and multi‑let buildings.
  • People and supplier management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to handle high‑pressure situations and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Foundational understanding of sustainability, ESG and health and safety in real estate.
  • Highly motivated team player who can also work independently.
  • Effective collaborator and relationship builder across all stakeholder groups.
  • Passion for continuous improvement through data, process and system enhancements.
  • Solution‑oriented, with a positive attitude and strong focus on customer service.
