Job summary

Forestry England is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to lead rural land acquisitions across England, supporting the Woodland Creation Programme and helping to deliver ~1,000 hectares of new woodland each year.

You're a Chartered Surveyor (AssocRICS/MRICS/FRICS) with a track record in land transactions, stakeholder engagement and multi-disciplinary teamwork. The role offers hybrid working and a fixed-term contract through 31 March 2030.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in rural land acquisition and estate management.
• Proven track record in land transactions and negotiations.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure rural land acquisition opportunities.
• Build relationships with land agents and stakeholders across England.
• Lead due diligence and assess land suitability for woodland creation projects.
• Negotiate terms and manage transactions through to completion.
• Provide surveying expertise and advise on land matters for the programme.
