Job summary

DCS Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to lead and deliver a wide range of surveying projects, including measured building surveys, topographical surveys and 3D laser scanning. The role involves client engagement and helping to develop the company’s surveying capability.

You will manage projects independently, liaise with clients throughout projects and plan activities from site through to final delivery, with travel across the UK as required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong experience delivering engineering or land surveying projects.
• Ability to manage projects independently and communicate with clients.
• Good planning, organisational and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial awareness and driving licence with UK travel willingness.
• Proficient in using Leica RTC360, Leica Total Stations and AutoCAD.
• Experience with 3D laser scanning and point cloud processing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver measured building surveys and topographical surveys.
• Undertake 3D laser scanning projects and processing of survey data.
• Complete engineering surveys, monitoring and setting out.
• Operate Total Stations and laser scanning equipment on sites.
• Produce accurate deliverables and survey reports for clients.
• Liaise with clients throughout survey projects and manage activities.
• Plan and manage survey activities from site to delivery.
• Support business development by building strong client relationships.
• Assist in growth and development of the surveying department.

Senior Surveyor

The Opportunity

Our client is a specialist engineering and surveying business providing high-quality measurement, laser scanning and surveying services across a range of engineering and construction sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Surveyor to lead and deliver a wide variety of surveying projects while helping to develop and expand the company's surveying capability.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveyor who enjoys both technical delivery and client engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the future growth of the surveying department, with genuine opportunities to influence its direction and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver measured building surveys.
• Carry out topographical surveys.
• Undertake 3D laser scanning projects.
• Complete engineering surveys, monitoring and setting out.
• Operate Total Stations and laser scanning equipment.
• Process survey data and produce accurate deliverables.
• Liaise directly with clients throughout survey projects.
• Plan and manage survey activities from site through to final delivery.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Conducting surveys across a variety of customer sites.
• Operating Total Stations and laser scanning equipment.
• Processing survey data and producing drawings.
• Preparing survey reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborating with engineering and project teams.
• Meeting clients on-site and discussing project requirements.
• Travelling throughout the UK as required.

Essential Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
