Job description
Senior Support Worker (Mental Health Residential)

Location: Guildford
Salary: £15.79 per hour plus additional per sleep
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week – mix of Early and Late shifts, 1 sleep per week across a 7‑day rota.

About the Role
  • Provide hands‑on support to service users, helping them set and achieve personal goals.
  • Line manage Support Workers and/or volunteers, including carrying out supervisions.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager or Team Leader when required.
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure Health & Safety compliance.
  • Assist with medication management, personal care, and daily living tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using computer‑based systems.
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals and attend placement reviews.
What We’re Looking For
  • At least 2 years’ experience in mental health or similar frontline support roles.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Resilience and empathy when supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Basic IT skills (email, word processing).
  • Ability to work flexibly, including lone working and occasional domestic tasks.
  • Desirable: Supervisory experience.
