Job summary

Salutem Care and Education is seeking a proactive Senior Support Worker to lead shifts, mentor a team, and ensure high-quality, person-centred care for adults in residential settings. You’ll coordinate care plans, monitor wellbeing, and support safeguarding while promoting independence and dignity across the service.

The role requires flexibility across days, nights, and sleep-ins, with opportunities for progression within Salutem’s care network.

Qualifications

• Experience in health and social care, ideally in a senior or supervisory role.
• Ability to lead shifts and mentor Support Workers.
• Commitment to person-centred care and positive outcomes.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and sleep-ins.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support staff during shifts, promoting best practice and person-centred care.
• Deliver tailored support that promotes independence, dignity and inclusion.
• Support development and review of care plans and risk assessments.
• Monitor health and wellbeing, liaising with healthcare professionals.
• Ensure safe medication management and accurate record keeping.
• Support Positive Behaviour Support approaches and manage complex behaviours.
• Maintain safeguarding and promote wellbeing.
• Complete audits and contribute to service improvement and CQC compliance.
• Oversee budgeting and money management for individuals where appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and health and safety standards.
• Act as senior on shift and deputise for Team Leader when required.
