Job summary

Keys Group is seeking a compassionate Senior Support Worker to manage a team and support young people aged 16–18 in a semi-independent setting in Darlington. You will drive care plans, report regularly, and liaise with health professionals to ensure safety and wellbeing.

The role requires an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Residential Childcare, a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle, and a commitment to safeguarding. DBS checks are covered by Keys Group.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years or over (due to regulatory requirements).
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care OR Residential Childcare.
  • Experience working with young people or within the care/child sector (preferred).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Enhanced DBS check, covered by Keys Group, with renewals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Provide high standards of care and support for young people in line with care plans.
  • Encourage community relationships by promoting activities.
  • Accurately report, record and maintain records as required and working to care plans.
  • Liaise with health professionals and their families.
  • Complete supervisions and audits.
  • Ensure duties undertaken by reporting staff meet required standards.

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team, supporting young people aged 16–18 in a semi-independent group setting.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young people develop essential life skills, build confidence, and prepare for full independence.

If you are a Support Worker with an NVQ / QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care and the enthusiasm and commitment to live our company values every, this may be the role for you!

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the young people within the service including: Managing a team of Residential Support Workers Providing high standards of care and support for young people we support, in line with care and support plans Encourage good community relationships by promoting a variety of activities Accurately report, record and maintain records as required and working to care plans Liaise with health professionals and their families Complete supervisions and audits To ensure that all duties undertaken by reporting staff are performed to required standards, and that all such staff contribute in a positive manner to provide a happy, efficient and homely atmosphere within the Home.

Requirements: Must be 21 years or over (due to regulatory requirements). NVQ/QCF L3 in Health & Social Care OR Residential Childcare.

Experience working with young people or within the care/child sector (preferred). Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
